The frescoes covering the walls of the Scrovegni Chapel are now celebrated as the pearl of the Early Renaissance. Commissioned by the wealthy Enrico Scrovegni to atone for his sins of money-lending, Giotto’s chapel is a masterpiece of storytelling and human emotion.
